The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) is presenting "Architects of a Better Mind," an AIA-approved continuing educational seminar offering courses related to the residential and commercial window, door and skylight industry. Architects who attend the full program will earn 8 learning units (LUs), all of which qualify as Health, Safety, Welfare (HSW) credits—that's the full year's HSW requirement for AIA members. | Who will it be? The American Master Installer Auto Glass Championship will be held during GlassBuild America in the Las Vegas Hilton The winner of the American national championship, along with the first runner-up, will travel to Germany at the end of October 2008 to represent the U.S. in the International Master Fitter Competition.
Featuring 7 finalists competing over two days, the American national championship will determine who performs the highest quality auto glass replacement and repair and represent the U.S. in the international competition. The contestants will be judged in three areas: auto glass repair, windshield removal and replacement, and sidelite removal and replacement. NGAs Judges Committee will review entries to select six finalists to compete in Las Vegas in October, with 2006 U.S. Champion Jeff Olive of Glasspro, Inc. returning to defend his title. A selection of industry experts from all facets of the auto glass industry will serve as judges during the hands-on competition.
